"I just don't have anything to wear!"
Well, first of all, do not despair! Naomi to the rescue! I'm pretty sure I can help you find suitable boudoir outfits in your closet right this very minute!
Now, don't get me wrong, I think a session is a great reason to get some new lingerie, but you don't HAVE to, to have an amazing boudoir experience!
There are many times when the look you want can simply be achieved by being creative with what we already have. I'm going to share a couple images & point out why wardrobe wasn't as high a priority as you might think, and then we'll move on to a few ideas I have about expanding your's.
Another great shot here where what the model is wearing isn't even that important, aside from her shoes (which cost her $7 on clearance)! While this is still a detail too, each photograph needs to tell a story and this one easily does so without her clothing mattering much!
So here are my tips for you today:
- 1. Raid your closet! You will be surprised at what can be used for a session. From lacy tank tops to costume jewelry, I always suggest you have anything & everything out for the session and we work together to pick what you need.
- 2. Raid your best friends' closets too! Even if your closest friends don't wear the same size, I'm sure there might be robes, cute sheets, even vintage pearls that might help add extra sparkle to your session.
- 3. Discount Shopping! Like you need an excuse to hit the clearance racks, right? But seriously, if you have boudoir in mind, start peeking around and see what is out there. There are tons of online outlets as well! A simple google search will be enough to get you started! Locally some shops I love for boudoir ideas are: Goodwill, Rue 21, TJ Maxx, Kohls, and Lane Bryant.
- 4. Think outside that box! You may not believe it, but some of my best work comes with my biggest challenges- so we roll you up in a bed sheet, we spread you out on that bearskin rug you hide in the basement, we dress you up in your husband's work shirt. We will ROCK it!
