You are beautiful! (Warsaw IN Boudoir Photographer)

Occasionally as photographers we come across frames we like to refer to as "perfectly imperfect". They often are slightly out-of-focus, or focused on an unlikely object, and yet something compels us to keep them- they are a slice of life, for life isn't perfect.

As I'm working through some recent sessions, I came across a frame that I just couldn't delete. It isn't perfect, as far as composition or focus goes, but yet it brought tears to my eyes as I realized how beautiful my model is in that moment!

So instead of deleting it, I'm sharing it here- to share with you how gorgeous one moment, even if it isn't quite in focus, can be!

A steal, a deal and why I want to share your photos! (Warsaw IN Boudoir Photography)

Hunter wife boudoir, deer skin boudoir, warsaw in boudoir, housewife boudoir, naomi karth boudoir
I love my clients so much. I love giving them this gift of being able to show how amazing, sexy and strong they are!

So the other day, it occurred to me, WHY do I offer private sessions? They usually end up being my best work (no kidding) and then I can't share them with anyone, which is frustrating, and I end up not being happy because I want the WORLD to know how awesome you are!

So I'm done with offering private sessions. Done!

If you look this amazing- I'm going to share it with everyone! (Or at least everyone who follow my work!)

And so on to the Steal & Deal part of my posting.... Now through the end of this year, I have decided I want to offer the gift of boudoir to all my loyal followers, with the following:

  • First off, I'm slashing the price of boudoir sessions to HALF OFF!! I want to give you an opportunity to experience how amazing you are, and so I'm helping by lowering the cost of scheduling a session! You just must make sure you mention this offer!
  •  Secondly, I'm going to offer a HUGE SALE in Nov (for Christmas) and so in addition to a break on your session fee, if you want to wait, you can get a nice discount on prints and products through our proofing site!
There's really no reason to NOT book now, so call me or email today! naomi@naomikarth.com or 574-267-4747

Bonus Myth #5- Trust! (Warsaw IN Boudoir Photographer)

So this finally bonus myth is really just about you, trusting me.

This is ME:
I'm a 32 (almost 33) year old gal, married to an amazing husband. We collect cats (have 8), plus 3 dogs and an amazingly adorable guinea pig. I happen to love scarfs, which is what my one camera (as pictured above) has for a strap! I love pizza, but can't have gluten. *sad face* I have a super-secret addiction to Taco Bell, the classiest place to ever serve up a taco made out of Doritoes. ;) My husband and I are hoping to adopt real human children eventually- and this business is part of how we hope to afford it! (You aren't just supporting my scarf habit here when you support my business! You are supporting MY DREAMS!!)

I realize that a lot of my models are people who already know me or got to know me, and I think a huge part of the trust barrier is just being friends first. And I can always use more friends, so I'm going to give you some great ways to connect to me, in addition to this blog, and hopefully you'll realize I'm an awesome person, tons of fun, and you really need to do a boudoir session with me as your photographer! ;)

  • First off- check me out on Twitter! It's mostly random photos from my life, a little about our photography business, but it's all relevant in the way it helps you see I'm a real woman!
  • If you use Instagram, be sure to add me @naomikarth and you can also follow @thekarths for sneak peeks & BTS shots from our business!
  • You can totally friend me on Facebook, if you haven't already! I promise I don't bite!
  • And since I really would love to connect with you, if you're wanting to set up a session, but still have doubts about anything, let's get together & figure out what we can do to make it so! (I'm a bit of a Star Trek geek too!) I'm slightly addicted to chocolate chai so I'm always up for meeting at a coffeehouse and talking things out. I'll also bring along samples of my products, and a little gift even for you!
Don't let yourself get in the way of doing a boudoir session!

And lastly, if you are in the Warsaw IN area, contemplating doing my boudoir sessions, and haven't checked out my mythbuster series, here you go:
  1. I'm not fit enough!
  2. I have nothing to wear!
  3. No location!
  4. I can't afford it!
I've love to connect with you, and I've LOVE LOVE LOVE to do a session with you, so give me a call today 574-527-7405 (my personal cell phone number) or email me: naomi@naomikarth.com It really could change your life and your attitude towards your body!

Boudoir Myth #4- "I can't afford it!" (Warsaw IN Boudoir Photographer)

And on to my final boudoir myth to bust-

"I just can't afford it!"

Well, first of all, boudoir is just such a unique experience, I'm going to tell you a secret- You shouldn't be able to easily afford it! It's going to be a luxury. You have to want it, but you also have to understand you deserve it!

You could certainly find boudoir photographers who charge less than I do, but will they make you feel the way I will? Will they care so much about lighting, posing and taking the time to get. it. right.?? Will they tell you how fabulous you look and make sure you are comfortable? Maybe, but why take that chance?

You already know you want to look this fabulous, right?!

I'm not going to try to talk you into booking a session with me, because, let's face it, you are already here! So this post is more about helping you figure out how to schedule with me! And here we go:

  • 1.  Make Payments!  I'll bet you didn't know I can take payments for sessions. I can set you up with our electronic invoicing and you can just send me an email every time you'd like to make a payment toward your session! Once you've paid for the session fee, we'll schedule it! (You can also pre-select an album or package and make payments as well.)
  •  2.  Save for it!  I know saving doesn't sound like a ton of fun, but with ImpulseSave it totally can be! ImpulseSave is a fun way to save money toward a specific goal. (It's totally legit & safe! I use it!) Once you set up your goal, you auto-save a specific amount to it each week. You can also send money to the account each time you save money on the fly- Say you go to buy an $80 pair of boots & they are marked down- save that extra dough! If you have a smartphone you can use their app to save, even with a regular cell you can just text in your Saves! You can pause the program if you find yourself a little short one week. If you decide to join I.S.- be sure to add me as a friend so we can cheer each other on! My goal is listed under lizykarth@gmail.com
  • 3.  Tell your partner about it!  I know some boudoir photographers who act like absolute secrecy is best, but you can still build anticipation with your husband knowing about your session- after all, he doesn't get to be there, he doesn't know what is coming! The big reveal when he gets to see your album or prints for the first time will be amazing! And if you TELL HIM you are needing the cash to do the session- he will help you FIND the money!! Believe me!
  •  4.  Be opportunistic!  I have two ways you can get in on a session for less than the sticker price. The first is being Boudoir Buddies- You and a friend can have me for the regular session fee, which you split, and split my time during the session. These can be a really fun way to share boudoir! The other is to follow me on Twitter and/or Facebook, where I occasionally am posting about portfolio building sessions I want to create. These are chances to get in on a session for free! I am looking for a model who will allow me to have absolute creative judgement, and get what I want out of the session. With either of these types of sessions you will still need to purchase albums or prints ala carte, but you'll be halfway there without having to try much! (I'll tell you a little secret right now- I'm dying to do a session that involves a creek or private lake surrounded by trees, if you know of a location, we can set something up for the summer!)

Thanks for following my series! I've got one last surprise post next Monday, but in the meantime, why not check up on last week's post about finding a location, or check out Miss B's Sneak Peek from a recent session we did!

Miss B- Sneak Peek! (Warsaw IN Boudoir Photographer)

This is Miss B, and she graciously agreed to being a model of awesomeness for you'all! She truly rocked this session we did for her husband, and for herself!

One note, if you read my recent post about not having a location to use for photography, I'd especially like you to note that last photo, where we simply put your basic home stair well to some very good use. I just popped up my light & made it happen! (If you're new to the blog, be sure to check out my series on getting past common boudoir myths to make a session happen!)

Please feel free to leave a comment to let Miss B know inspiring her session is!

Boudoir Myth #3- "Nowhere to photograph" (Warsaw IN Boudoir Photographer)

This week's myth is the following:

"I don't have a location we can use!"

This one is actually mildly insulting to me, because it suggests I'm not creative enough to handle whatever you can throw at me! And believe me, I TOTALLY AM!!

I'm going to cut right to the chase here & suggest that I can shoot anywhere. I'm a wedding photographer, and you have to learn really quickly to make do with whatever is thrown at you. So bring it!!

Here are some of my tips for making boudoir photography a reality in your life, if you didn't think you had a place to photograph in:

  • 1. Use your own home. This might be a "Duh!" for some, but I can really easily use your own location to make fabulous photos! Plus I think this is The Best location for someone who might be a little nervous already! Your own territory helps calm those nerves. I bring my own lighting, plus use what is available to me- so clean up your room and call me!! (574-527-7405!)
  • 2. Use a friend's home. The plus side here is you will probably easily be able to convince your friend to hang out during the session- which is not only double the fun, but it also means you'll have someone there to help with the nerves!
  •  3. Rent a hotel room. If you're booking a session & going all out with hair and makeup, a hotel room might be a perfect match for you! It's also a great way to keep things a secret! Some hotels even offer discounts if you only use a room for a few hours, so you might score a great location AND a great deal at the same time!
  • 4. The Great Outdoors! Ok, so there are some limitations to what we can legally shoot outside, but there is something super sexy about the soft green of summer paired with lacy lingerie! Really a must if you are on the daring side!

I hope this gives you some ideas of how you could set up your own session soon! Next week we will cover the one question no one asks, but is always there in the back of their mind- how to afford boudoir!! Don't miss it!!

And be sure to check out last week's post: "I don't have anything to wear!"

Don't forget I'm a boudoir photographer serving Warsaw IN and the surrounding areas. You can reach me by email: naomi@naomikarth.com or on my cell: 574-527-7405! Let's make it happen!

Boudoir Myth #2- "Nothing to wear!" (Warsaw IN Boudoir Photographer)

I get this statement a lot from both sides of the fence. From gals who've already booked, and from ones trying to decide if they should-

"I just don't have anything to wear!"

Well, first of all, do not despair! Naomi to the rescue! I'm pretty sure I can help you find suitable boudoir outfits in your closet right this very minute!

Now, don't get me wrong, I think a session is a great reason to get some new lingerie, but you don't HAVE to, to have an amazing boudoir experience!

There are many times when the look you want can simply be achieved by being creative with what we already have. I'm going to share a couple images & point out why wardrobe wasn't as high a priority as you might think, and then we'll move on to a few ideas I have about expanding your's.

Warsaw IN Lifestyle Photographer; Warsaw IN Boudoir Photographer, Warsaw IN Pinup Photographer, www.naomikarth.com, Naomi Karth- Boudoir Artist, Indiana Film Boudoir Photographer, IN Boudoir Photographer
I LOVE this type of shot- it's a detail shot for albums, but husbands love it because it shows the wedding ring, while give you this great leggy appeal! You'll notice that aside from the ring, you really can't tell what the model is wearing here, and this is sexy, without even trying!

Another great shot here where what the model is wearing isn't even that important, aside from her shoes (which cost her $7 on clearance)! While this is still a detail too, each photograph needs to tell a story and this one easily does so without her clothing mattering much!

So here are my tips for you today:
    • 1. Raid your closet!  You will be surprised at what can be used for a session. From lacy tank tops to costume jewelry, I always suggest you have anything & everything out for the session and we work together to pick what you need.
    • 2. Raid your best friends' closets too!   Even if your closest friends don't wear the same size, I'm sure there might be robes, cute sheets, even vintage pearls that might help add extra sparkle to your session.
    • 3. Discount Shopping!  Like you need an excuse to hit the clearance racks, right? But seriously, if you have boudoir in mind, start peeking around and see what is out there. There are tons of online outlets as well! A simple google search will be enough to get you started! Locally some shops I love for boudoir ideas are: Goodwill, Rue 21, TJ Maxx, Kohls, and Lane Bryant.
    • 4. Think outside that box!  You may not believe it, but some of my best work comes with my biggest challenges- so we roll you up in a bed sheet, we spread you out on that bearskin rug you hide in the basement, we dress you up in your husband's work shirt. We will ROCK it!
I really hope this helps inspire you to take the next step towards securing your own boudoir session! As always, any questions, drop me a line: naomi@naomikarth.com
