Miss S - Looking fabulous! (Warsaw, IN Boudoir Photography)

I have a friend. Miss S. She has been through some extraordinary circumstances in the past year, and I thought I'd tell you just a little bit about her, so you could see why this photo is so special. 

Miss S learned the hard way that sometimes in life, you have to move away from someone who doesn't appreciate you, to find someone who truly does. She was betrayed by someone she loved. Someone she had known for longer than I've even been married! She had to move out, move on. It was black for a while. I wanted so hard to help, but didn't know what to do or say at times! After a while, she started to bounce back- hard. She started working out. (She looks fabulous!) She got her life in order, and she realized that she was worth so much more than what she had been told she was worth. She met an amazing new guy, who actually might deserve her!

She couldn't afford to do a full-on boudoir session back in December, but I was photographing a wedding reception she was participating in, and she asked if I could grab a sensual shot of her, and her new look. (Um, heck to the yeah!!)

It took me a couple minutes to decide where to snap it, and since I wanted an almost voyeur-like perspective, I choose to use a slow shutter speed to give a tiny bit of blur to the capture. I toned it a bit, but otherwise left it pretty much as captured.

 This is the new Miss S. Love her, and learn from her.

Alrighty, Lovelies! I've got another edition of my current crushes ready for you! This is specializing in cute stuff that I've seen lately that is affordable!! (Gotta love that!) Again, these photos were used from sites that allowed me to use their photos, and I provide the link so you can buy immediately, if you see something you like!


First up, I LOVE this corset from Frederick's of Hollywood:

It comes in a ton of colors (but this was my fav) and is only $38!! Crazy, but awesome! Be sure to check it out! There is guaranteed to be a color for you!

Miss D Sneak Peeks! (Warsaw, IN Boudoir Photography)

I love when models give me permission to share some of their photos- this session with Miss D was soooooo awesome, and I get to give you some sneaks here!! This session was part of a party, so I only had an hour to work with her- and look what we accomplished!!

Current Crushes! (Warsaw, IN Boudoir Photographer)

First of all, if you are like me and even just enjoy window shopping for lingerie- You MUST check out The Lingerie Addict! She posts weekly sales, and her newsfeed on Facebook is chock full of awesome things!

I'm going to give you some items that have caught my eye recently. Maybe you'll find your new crush too! (Please note, I did not take these photos, and am only using them from websites that allow photos to be used.)

First up, Patsy by Freya:

There's just something about green, polkadots AND sheer all in one set! Love it, and the fit looks so comfy! Since Freya is international you'll need to use their search tool to find a retailer to purchase from, but their website makes that super-easy!

Double the fun! Boudoir Buddies! (Warsaw, IN Boudoir Photography)

I love boudoir photography so much. If you had told me three years ago how totally head-over-heels I'd be about making women look & feel amazing, I'd have laughed! I had no idea how awesome it would be, and it is totally addictive!

I wish I could just do it for free, but unfortunately I've found that I can't, and I even had to raise my prices because things weren't evening out right! (Try telling your tax man you have a loss because you just had to shoot a boudoir marathon at a hotel!! *blush*)

I do need to update my portfolio some, as I've learned so much in the past three years! I've had a lot of girls agree to let me use their photos, then have a conflict of interest with the hubby. Since I'm not in business to cause friction between couples- quite the opposite- I always respect the requests of the client to not use photos. This usually leaves me a tiny bit disappointed though, because they rocked the session, and I can't show anyone!

So I've been inspired to try two new things to help bring some fresh looks into the business, but in a way that will also help me stay in business! (I was so inspired by all the comments during the Love Yourself giveaway that you would give the session to someone else if you won!)

1. Boudoir Buddies- This is a way to split the cost of a session with your BFF. I stopped doing parties because they weren't working for the style of photography I provide- detailed, intimate, personal. It does work well for a set of close friends who want the experience, but at half the cost. You provide a location, and will rotate sets with your friend. While one of you is changing, the other is in front of the camera! It gives you the comfort of a friend, but the one-on-one experience I prefer to give! 2. PB Sessions- PB is slang for Portfolio Building. These sessions are truly geared towards the ultra-confident woman, because for a price slash you will be signing your photos over to be used by me for advertising purposes. (It really isn't that bad, as I never go further than you want to, in a session!) These can be at a location of your choosing, and can include makeup by me. I love this shoot so much. I needed to do something creative. My heart was just yearning for it... and Candace is just a great model! She takes direction so very well, and when we got to that last shot- I stopped, because I knew at that moment we couldn't top that look she gave me! She's so gorgeous & I'm so blessed that I know her personally and can convince her that I need to shoot something!! Ha ha!

Anyway, I love what we achieved here- both in terms of style, but also in my technique, and in the finished edit. (Very minimal editing used here, and I love that!)

Ok, so this is the prize most of you have been waiting for!! I'm giving away one free mini boudoir session (valued at $200)!! It includes- a complete makeup application, and a half hour photography session with your's truly! (Um, that would be Naomi Karth, in case you didn't know!)

I had to place a few limitations on it- it must take place locally (Warsaw, IN). If you win & are from out of town, you can take advantage by either using a friend's house or renting a local hotel room. We don't offer hair services at this time, but you are welcomed to have your hair done prior to the session. You will need to provide your own outfit(s). Now, a little about me, and why I'm doing this first.

That photo is of me. It was taken in a hotel room, using a crappy hotel room light. But I love it because I look how I felt that day! I felt SO sexy and alive! Boudoir photography does that for you! It is the most amazing thing you can do as a woman to connect with your body (and your partner).

The LOVE YOURSELF campaign came into idea shortly after Valentine's Day, when I noticed some very eligible (and amazing) women having issues with a day that basically glorifies gifts as a way to love someone. To truly love someone, you need to first love yourself. Because, you are essentially giving yourself to that other person.

Did you know that? Do you ever think about it? When I look through the lens at my models (and you all are models, deep-down, I just unleash it!) I see so much gorgeousness, it makes me want to cry.

This is why I do boudoir. Not just to make you feel beautiful, but to SHOW you how beautiful you are!

Miss C- (Warsaw, IN Boudoir Photographer)

Miss C is my assistant for many of the boudoir shoots we do. She really rocks the behind-the-scenes work with me, and she helps me with inspiration! (Our current dream shoots are something with a vintage car, and a Phantom of the Opera themed shoot!)

She also really rocks in front of the camera too! She is often my muse, and the one who lets me try new things. She was even my very first boudoir model. I totally *heart* her, and I know you will too! Thanks for being so brave!! ~Naomi

This first shot is from our very first set together. Very classic pin-up. We were still learning what we wanted to do and how our style would work, but this is a great example of how good we both were from the get-go!

And then when I got my lighting kit, she helped me learn how to use it:

Grey no more... (Warsaw, IN Boudoir Photographer)

You're reading that title & thinking I dyed my hair. Nope. I didn't.

It's no secret I adore my husband. Also no secret he adores me. I mean, just look at us:

I've actually had grey hair since my twenties, but lately the little buggers have started to get out of control. At first I'd pluck the occasional one- then I did dye my hair a couple years ago, but it wasn't really me, and wasn't really what I want to do anyway.

A few nights ago I was climbing in bed with my husband, the one person I care most about pleasing, and lamented that I was turning old and the grey hairs had gotten out of control.

He looked at me like I was crazy and asked "What grey hairs?"

I proceeded to search through my head to find the opposition. "Here. And here. AND HERE!"

He squished his eyes into tiny little slits and still couldn't see what I was talking about.

It turns out my husband has this super power where he is unable to see grey hair, or able to look right past it (guess it all depends on how you think) and so he really has no idea why they bother me.

So I decided I needed to learn not only to live with them, but to like them! (Love them might be pushin' it!)

So I spent a few extra minutes in the mirror, and I noticed that they aren't really grey hairs- they are white. And not just white, but sparkly white! And as a result, my hair is kinda sparkly where they are located. And I CAN live with that!

I may be crazy, but I'm a cool kind of crazy that can blaze a trail through or around whatever needs be! ~Naomi
